Daniel Frederick McGibbon b.1954 Seattle, Washington, USA
I remember as a young child being able to draw from what I saw or my imagination. Almost every artist I have met has said they too have been able to draw at a young age. But, I also believe everybody has the ability to create art in some form.
I have an Associates Degree in Graphic Design where I studied many forms of creating art. I also have a Associates Degree in Printing where I learned how to reproduce my artwork.
One of the greatest tools for creating and reproducing art is the computer (Mac) which I have been using to create art since 1988. My computer illustrations are created using the graphics program Adobe Illustrator.
I have worked in the art departments of a silk screen shop, sign shop, print shop and as an Instructional Assistant for Graphic Arts. Over the years I have sold my paintings through Galleries, to friends and over the internet internationally. I also have sold illustrations and graphic design for many different clients as a free lance artist.
I like to use oils and watercolors in my paintings and like to experiment with different ways to create art. I have been experimenting with creating artwork using wood as the canvas and attaching different objects to the wood. I like to sculpt and have created many pieces using different types of stone and wood.
“Creating art is an expression, it should be spontaneous and inspire some emotion or response from the viewer”
