Dog Star: The Equanimity Project
An ongoing experiment in creating artwork using a piece of wood as the canvas and then adding different attachments to the wood canvas. Some attachments I have used are a smashed bottle cap, pop can top with wire, a broken mirror, pieces of sculpted wood, Sculpey Clay and a chain.
Outcome: Equanimity
Mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, especially in a difficult situation. Creating art is a form of meditation for me. When I am in the creative mode I block out every thought and I am concentrating only on what I am creating. I loose all since of time and when I stop hours have passed and I feel totally relaxed and calm. I look at what I have created and feel great satisfaction and accomplishment. It can start out as a difficult situation in the beginning but always ends with equanimity.
Examples:

Attachment: Pop can top with wire.

Attachment: Smashed bottle cap.

Attachment: Pieces of wood with chain wrapped.
